Understanding the Daxko MotionSoft (MoSo) integration
The MotionSoft (MoSo) integration brings your membership, financial, and club activity data into Easalytics so you can compare locations, understand member behavior, and track performance over time. This guide explains how familiar MoSo information translates into Easalytics and how to make useful comparisons between the two systems.
What the MoSo integration provides
Depending on your setup and the data your organization records in MoSo, the integration supports membership and agreement reporting, revenue, past-due balances, check-ins, scheduled events and appointments, and personal training sales and usage. Available dashboards depend on your Easalytics products and permissions.
MoSo data updates on a scheduled daily cycle. Check Data Status and the dashboard’s data as of date before reviewing yesterday’s activity or month-to-date results. A live MoSo report may include activity that has not yet reached Easalytics.
How MoSo information translates into Easalytics
| Information in MoSo | How it is used in Easalytics |
|---|---|
| Business unit | Club or location. The club used depends on whether you are reviewing membership, a financial transaction, or a visit. |
| Agreement name | Membership Type, which can be organized into a Membership Type Group. |
| Bundle name | Payment Plan, such as a monthly plan or a 12-month paid-in-full plan. |
| Agreement term | Payment Term: Perpetual agreements are represented as Recurring; Fixed agreements as Paid In Full. |
| Item category | Profit Center, which can be organized into a Profit Center Group for revenue reporting. |
| Member and agreement IDs | Identifiers for comparing the same person or agreement across reports. |
| Events, appointments, and services | Scheduled activity and service information used in event and PT reporting, with reporting groupings maintained in Easalytics. |
For example, an agreement named Orange with an Orange – Monthly bundle has a Membership Type of Orange and a Payment Plan of Orange – Monthly. Those fields describe different parts of the same membership.
Understand which date each report uses
Membership activity, revenue, and club visits each have their own reporting date.
| Reporting area | MoSo date used | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| New membership and agreement activity | Agreement Start Date | When the agreement takes effect. |
| Revenue | Financial transaction date | When the included sale, discount, or adjustment was recorded. |
| Check-ins | Check-in date and time | When the member visited. |
| Events and appointments | Scheduled event or appointment date | When the activity takes place. Booking activity can use its creation date. |
MoSo’s Agreement Sales report can use a separate Sale Date. An agreement starting August 31 but sold September 1 falls into August in Easalytics membership activity and September in a MoSo report filtered by Sale Date. This can affect daily totals and month boundaries.
A membership’s Start Date does not determine when all its revenue is reported. Later financial transactions appear on their own transaction dates.
Revenue: dates, amounts, and categories
Start with Revenue Compare to review revenue by club and Profit Center Group, then use Revenue Trends to see how it changes over time.
For MoSo, Easalytics revenue is based on financial sales transactions, including related discounts and adjustments. The reporting date is the financial transaction date. A later payment against an existing invoice is not counted again as another sale.
When comparing revenue with MoSo, match these details:
- Report basis: Compare the underlying sales transactions. Payment collection, bank deposit, outstanding balance, and revenue totals can describe different activity.
- Tax: The base revenue amount excludes sales tax, which is recorded separately. Compare with a MoSo total on the same tax basis.
- Club: Revenue is attributed to the sale business unit. That can differ from the member’s home club or the location where a payment was processed.
- Category: MoSo item categories become Profit Centers. A Profit Center Group combines those categories according to your Easalytics setup.
Administrators should review Profit Center Grouping, including the Personal Training and Discretionary classifications. These settings determine how revenue is organized into PT, optional purchases, and dues/fees.
Membership activity and agreement value
Metric Definitions
- New Members: People joining as new members, excluding returning or replacement agreement activity such as rewrites and renewals.
- New Agreements: Eligible new primary membership agreements. This can include a new agreement for an existing member; secondary and dependent members, rewrites, and renewals are excluded.
- New Member Units (NMUs): A broader measure of agreement activity that includes New, Renew, Rewrite, Reinstated, and Add-on types. Continual Renew and Continual Rewrite types are excluded.
A MoSo Sale Type of New does not necessarily mean the person is a first-time member. Likewise, a rejoin or rewrite represents different activity from a first membership. Choose the Easalytics metric that matches the question you want to answer.
Dues describe the recurring agreement value. Revenue describes financial transactions in the reporting period. New Dues, current dues, and revenue therefore should not be expected to match. Paid-in-full agreements also need to be considered separately from recurring monthly dues.
Review Membership Type Groups and the Membership Exclusion filter before comparing counts. Staff, healthcare, or other groups may be excluded according to your organization’s setup. A healthcare agreement can be present in Easalytics while omitted from a view of dues-paying memberships.
Member status, cancellations, and past due
Use Member List to review individual members, agreement information, status, and status reasons. Cancellation requests, effective cancellation dates, agreement expiration, and freezes describe different stages of the membership lifecycle; a list of cancellation requests may differ from a report of members already lost.
Attrition Trends shows historical membership losses and the associated dues and revenue value. Those amounts describe members who were lost; predictive risk reporting is a separate analysis.
Past Due uses the accounts-receivable information supplied by MoSo. An unpaid balance describes money owed and should be compared with MoSo’s receivables or aging information, using the same data cutoff.
Check-ins, events, and personal training
Check-ins are assigned to the club where the visit occurred, which may differ from the member’s home club. When comparing with MoSo, match the visit locations and distinguish successful visits from denied-entry or alert activity.
Total Check-Ins includes repeat visits by the same member. Unique Daily Check-Ins removes repeated check-ins by that member on the same day. A member visiting on three different days contributes to all three days; this metric is different from unique members over the entire month.
MoSo events and appointments supply the scheduled activity used in Easalytics. Review Event Grouping so activities appear in the intended Class, PT, or PT Intro reporting. Enrollment, attendance, and completed events are different measures: an event occurring does not establish that every enrolled member attended.
PT sales, recurring service agreements, and attended sessions also measure different things. A member can purchase sessions this month and use them next month. Review both revenue/service grouping and event grouping when comparing PT sales with PT usage.
Data held outside MoSo
The MoSo integration covers the information supplied through MoSo. Data managed in another system needs its own supported connection or agreed reporting process.
For example, Engage Pro/VFP leads and conversion reporting require a separate integration. Healthcare memberships and visits recorded in MoSo do not, by themselves, establish reimbursement revenue held in WellD or another payer system. Contact Easalytics to confirm which sources are connected for your organization.
Compare reports and resolve differences
- Match the cutoff: Check Data Status and use the same reporting end date.
- Match the question: Decide whether you are comparing people, agreements, recurring dues, financial transactions, visits, or attendance.
- Match the scope: Review clubs, reporting dates, membership exclusions, categories, statuses, and tax treatment.
- Compare the detail: Use member, agreement, invoice, or transaction identifiers to find the records contributing to a difference. Check adjacent months when dates differ.
If you need help, email support@easalytics.com with both report names, date ranges, clubs, filters, and a few example records. For revenue, include transaction dates and amounts; for agreement activity, include Start Date and Sale Date.
